A native of Boston, the fictional Will Remain, graduated from Harvard University in 1966. On graduation, he enlisted in the Marines and attended Officer Candidates School and the Basic School in Quantico, Virginia. An infantry officer, he completed Advance Infantry Training at Camp Lejeune and was ordered to the Republic of Vietnam where he served for seventeen months. He fought at Khe Sanh in 1967 and at the Battle for Hue City during the Tet Offensive of 1968. Remain was twice cited for gallantry – earning both the Silver and Bronze Stars. He was also awarded two Purple Hearts. On leaving the Marine Corps, he obtained an M.A. degree in creative writing from Boston University in 1971.
Born and raised in New England, Tara Kaz stayed in the region she loves when she attended the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston, graduating with a BFA in Painting. Since entering the working world at the turn of the millennium, she has taken on many creative ventures. Graphic design, faux finishing, mural painting, wedding design, and illustration have allowed her to both directly and indirectly put her degree to work. She is honored to have been a part of this ambitious visionary feat, written by a man who unquestionably put his heart and soul into every page. She shares her inspired lifestyle with her equally creative husband and son.
